Drug program moves to Second Street

The ribbon is cut; new services planned in long-awaited move

Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services, Alcohol and Other Drug Program (AOD) announces its long-awaited move to 1279 Second St., Ste. C. The new AOD office was specifically designed to support recovery and meet regulatory and evidence-based service standards.

The staff of AOD uses an integrated and combined treatment approach focusing on Motivational Interviewing, Twelve-Step Facilitation and Cognitive Behavioral-Relapse Prevention providing assessments, group and individual counseling, information and referral, a Perinatal Program, a Drug Court Program, a Proposition-36 Program, a Co-Occurring Disorders Program and Aftercare Services.

Plans are under way to add psychoeducational and additional evidenced-based outpatient services.

AOD continues its long history of working with other community partners in promoting recovery from alcohol and drug abuse.
