First Art Walk of season Fri.

Sixteen downtown Crescent City businesses will host various local artists at the first Art Walk of the summer season on Friday.

Works range from wearable art to bronze sculptures to exotic birdhouses. The event is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Highlights include:

A book signing and photography by Lake Ruedigel, author of "Siskiyou Crest: Hikes, History and Ecology" at Jefferson State Books at 299 I Street.

A demonstration from bronze sculptor Stephan Seable at the Gallery of Arts and Culture at 175 H Street.

A grand reopening for Mike Selfridge featuring native clay pottery, stained glass and etchings at Bay Studios at 1030 Sunset Circle.

Fine jewelry by Eileen Evermore at Vita Cucina at 1270 Front Street.
