The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect in a June 3 shooting in Fort Dick.

Briton Franklin Mode, 47, is wanted in connection with the shooting of Marvin Jones, who was hit twice with a stun gun and once with a firearm during a disagreement between the two at the Fort Dick residence of one of Jones' friends, said Del Norte Sheriff's Commander Bill Steven.

After shooting Jones in the leg, Mode returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, Steven said.

Jones checked in to Sutter Coast Hospital the next day and was treated and released, according to hospital spokesperson Beth Liles.

Mode is described as a white male 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 200 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

The Sheriff's Office warns that Mode is to be considered armed and dangerous.

There is an unrelated warrant out for his arrest for violating conditions of his parole.

Anyone with information about Mode's whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 464-4191 ext. 221 or dial 911.
