The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office apprehended a man suspected of assaulting another man with a stun gun and a firearm at a residence in Fort Dick on June 3.
Britton Mode, 42, had outstanding warrants for assault with a firearm stemming from the June 3 incident and an unrelated warrant for violating the conditions of his post-release community supervision. His bond was set at $100,000.
"We obtained information as to his whereabouts, which was his grandmother's house on Kings Valley Road," Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson said. "Deputies surrounded the house and attempted to call him out."
When Mode didn't surrender, deputies got permission to enter the residence from the property owner, a family member of Mode, Wilson said.
Mode was found inside the residence and was arrested without incident, Wilson said.
Mode is suspected by the Sheriff's Office of assaulting Marvin Jones twice with a stun gun and shooting him in the leg with a firearm over a disagreement between the two at Jones' friends house in Fort Dick, sheriff's officials said.
The incident went unreported until June 4, when Marvin Jones checked himself into Sutter Coast Hospital, where he was treated and released.
