Foster Farms recalls chicken with March dates

Triplicate Staff

Del Norte County residents are encouraged to check their freezers to see if there's any Foster Farms chicken in there.

Foster Farms is recalling certain chicken products that may have been contaminated with salmonella. The Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reports that local retailers have voluntarily pulled those products from their shelves.

The potentially contaminated chicken was sold in March and would have the codes P6137, P6137A or P7632 on the USDA label. The products would have "use or freeze by" dates of March 16andndash;31, 2014.

Anyone who finds they have these products or has questions should call the retailer where they purchased them. People may also visit the California Department of Public Health website athttp://www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/Pages/fdbFr.aspxor contact Colleen Machado at 707-464-3191 ext. 2825.
