Man killed in collision on 101 at Oregon state line

UPDATE:Authorities confirmed details of a death caused by a collision on Highway 101 at the California/Oregon border. The man who died was trapped in a truck involved in a head-on collision late this morning. His identity has not been released, but the truck he was driving has an Oregon license plate. The people in the motorhome that was hit head on by the man's GMC Canyon pickup received minor injuries.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:As of 1:25 p.m. today, law enforcement is advising motorists not to travel on Highway 101 in the area of the California-Oregon border unless absolutely necessary. A fatal crash has caused a major traffic jam, with the backup reaching several miles in both directions.
