Obituaries: Raquel Anselma Wilson(1926-2008)


Raquel Anselma Wilson, 82, passed away July 13, 2008, in Crescent City. She was born April 21, 1926, in Brownsville, Texas.

Mrs. Wilson was a 41-year resident of Del Norte County. She was a past member of the Rebekah's, the Latin American Club, and she had also been a former service chairman of the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Wilson also was a teacher at Smith River Elementary School and was owner/operator of the Uniform Store.

She is survived by her sons Roy E. Wilson III of the Bay Area, Dean Wilson of Crescent City; daughter Leslie Wilson Muela of Sausalito; grandchildren John Muela, Nicole Muela and Xochitl Alicia Gonzalez, Robert, Wyatt, Lily and Abby Wilson; and great-grandson Owen Moebius.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Wilson, Jr., and her sister, Ann Reeder.

Memorial Mass services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1301 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
