Longtime Cave Junction, Ore., resident, George Amos Mason, Jr., age 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at his home in a farming accident.
George was born June 15, 1933 in Salisbury, Penn. From 1950 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On July 3, 1954 he married Dorothy L. Conn.
He sold hogs to the local 4-H groups in Crescent City. His daughter Debbie Wyatt also lived and worked in Crescent City for many years.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Dorothy L. Mason; he is survived by six children, Vickie Marvin and her husband Jess, Ronnie Seibold and her husband Bryan, Debbie Wyatt and her husband Gerald, Shellie McDowell and her husband Mike, Larry Mason and his wife Trina, and Thelma Stephenson and her husband Paul; 18 grandchildren; and seven and a half great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Laurel Cemetery. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
