Born and raised in and around Santa Rosa, Cathy Ellen Lopez left here on Nov. 15, 2007 to enter the embrace of her precious mother Eleanor Lopez, sister Valerie Soto, baby brother William Jr. and big brother Edward Steele.

She will hold her infant daughter Maria again, after 20 years. She leaves behind her adored children, Jonisa Torres, Ramon, Milo Torres, Helena Enrique Palacios, Annell, Samantha Rodriguez, Eric Valdez and two treasured and adored gifts Veronica Gonzales and Tito, also Brittany Perez.

Left in sorrow and eternal sadness are her sisters Julie Halimba, Max, Candy Dominguez and Jose, Gloria Lopez and Frank, Jannette Lopez and Raul, Angela Galindo and Jesus; little brother Donovan Lopez and Eva; her adoring father William Lopez Sr. and his wife Arliss. She will be missed by her aunts and uncles Ray-mond and Mildred Lopez, Gene and Doris Miller and Joyce Steele. Cathy's beloved grandchildren, Rosie and Angel Valencia, Cathy and Ramon Camacho Jr., Babelle Torres, Beyonce Palacios, Angel and Andria will miss all the love, care and sweetness Grandma Cathy always took the time to give them. The numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that loved her so much will continue to grieve, especially those who sat, visited and helped with her wishes in her final days.

Cathy attended Del Norte High, Joe Hamilton, Crescent Elk and F.O. Bible schools. She graduated from Healdsburg College. After leaving her position at Gallo Wines, Cathy sat for 20 years as Tribal Vice Chairperson for Lytton Rancheria, where she devoted herself to the betterment of all with her determination, pride, integrity and generosity. Services were held Nov. 23, 2007 in Santa Rosa, and burial took place in Healdsburg at Oakmont.
