Mable Alger March, 97, passed away on March 16, 2007 in Crescent City. She was born on Sept. 11, 1910 in Kingsley, Iowa. She was a resident of Del Norte County since 1948. Mrs. March retired from Daly's Department store where she was employed for 18 years as the manager of the Men's Department. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of the Crescent City Women's Club.

Mable's hobbies included pinochle, crocheting, knitting, and baking cookies. She also enjoyed reading and watching her afternoon soap operas. She loved to go for rides with her family and will be remembered for the special love for each of her family members.

She is survived by her son Dick March of Crescent City and daughter Janice Briggs and Buzz of Crescent City, Tom March and his companion Carolyn of Menifee, Harry March of Crescent City, and Jeani and Jim Vallee of Eureka; grandchildren Richard March, Tom March, Harry March, Debby Stover, Matt Briggs and Kirk March; great-grandchildren Patrick Jiminez, Autumn de Solenni and Tennille Wilson; great-great-grandchildren Taylor and Braydon Wilson and Sophia and Jaelyn de Solenni, as well as numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo March in February 1996 and daughter-in-law Beverlee in 1996.

The family requests contributions be made in Mable's memory to St. Joseph Catholic School, 430 3rd. Street, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. with Rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Wier's Mortuary Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
