Beatrice Jeannetta Breen Norr, 93, of Brookings, died of natural causes on Sept. 4, 2007 at her home.

She was born Sept. 21, 1913 in Stockwell, Ind. and was a daughter of Walter Sherman and Myrtle Edith (Baer) Miller. She was raised and educated in San Luis Obispo, and at the age of 18, owned and managed her own restaurant there.

Beatrice and her first husband Clarence L. Kinne, had three daughters. The marriage ended in divorce.

She owned a restaurant in Azusa (The Bea Hive) until 1941. During World War II, Beatrice worked in aircraft production at Lockheed for the war effort.

She returned to school and became a laboratory and X-ray technician for Hankins Medical Group in Azusa until her retirement in 1979.

She married John andquot;Jackandquot; Breen and they had one son. Jack died in 1988.

Beatrice married John Norr on April 29, 1990 in Riverside and resided there until moving to Crescent City in 1999. The couple relocated to Brookings in 2005.

Bea was an avid bridge player and she enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, watching baseball games, cooking, canning, traveling, camping, dining out and the many organizations to which she belonged. She was especially proud of her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was always there to help family and friends in need.

Survivors include her sister, Maxine Bromberger of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; daughters, Evelyn Briggs, of Brookings; Shirley Englehart of Crescent City; Laura Marems and husband Hal of Colorado Springs, Colo.; ten grandchildren, Sharolyn Cooper of Portland, Ore.; John Clay of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Cynthia Smith of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Kim Wood of Brookings; Carlene Gaydosh of Las Vegas, Nev.; Lannette Davido of Hillsboro, Ore.; Mark Englehart of San Jose; Eric Englehart of Crescent City; Meredith Delay of Las Vegas, Nev.; and John Breen III of Moreno Valley and many great and great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Jack Breen; her third husband, John Norr; son John Breen Jr.; brother Earl Miller and son-in-law, James Englehart.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Macklyn House, 755 Elk Drive, Brookings, Ore.

Inernment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Glendora.

Cremation is under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel. Inernment is under the direction of White's Funeral Home in Azusa.
