Bryan Lee Mode


Bryan Lee Mode, a 31-year resident of Del Norte County, died June 9, 2007, in San Francisco.

He was born Feb. 28, 1968, in Crescent City.

He moved for short periods of time to Vancouver, Wash.; Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona and Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He worked in the logging industry in Del Norte County and fished commercially in the Bering Strait of Alaska. At the time of his death he was pursuing his education. He carved wood and created various types of art.

He is survived by his three children, Tayshia Lynn Mode of Spokane, Wash., Azrail Mode and Mykah Lee Mode of Fortuna; his brothers, Britton and Jason Mode of Crescent City and Kevin Mode of Sacramento; his mother, Judy Wangerin of Crescent City, his father, Larry Mode and step-mother, Chris Mode of Crescent City; his grandmother, Jackie Mode of Wickenburg, Arizona; aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Wangerin; grandmother, Etta Stow; grandfathers John Mode and Joe Stow; and uncle, Johnnie Lee Mode.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 16 at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Crescent City.
