Betty A. Denham-Stepp, 80, died Jan. 7, 2009, in Crescent City. She was born May 1, 1928, to George Edward Dubois-Woods and Dorah May Butler-Woods in Detroit. She lived in Crescent City from 2002 until her death to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law and family.
On July 22, 1945, she married Carl V. Denham in St. Claire Shores, Mich. They were married for 33 years and had one son, Victor L. Denham.
She worked as a director in food service for many years. Prior to moving to California in 1959, Betty was a press-punch operator. After her husband's death in 1978, she transferred back to Michigan to continue to work in food service.
She married Linus Stepp on Feb. 13, 1982. Mr. Stepp passed away in June that same year. She moved back to California after Mr. Stepp's death.
She leaves behind sisters Aileen Pond of Bay City, Mich., and Donna Hohensee of Algonac, Mich.; a brother George Woods of St. Clair, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Woods, husbands Carl V. Denham and Linus Stepp, and her parents.
