Letters: It's a good thing Bernard can't exterminate elk

archive_import

I wonder if it could be that the elk are just looking for a decent meal of grass at the airport because of human encroachment on the areas they used to feed upon (andquot;Airport vs. elk, andquot; Dec. 3)?

I am thankful that (at least for now), Airport Manager Jim Bernard doesn't have his first option of complete extermination available! I recently read in The Triplicate about plans (probably a sure bet by now) of expanding the airport.

I only hope there will be an unbiased overseer of the project in case Mr. Bernard is in charge!
