Letters: Gap between south of town and downtown needs bridging

archive_import

While I was enjoying myself at Beachfront Park, I couldn't help but notice that the city's campground on the South side of Elk Creek seemed to be very full of tourists. Many of them were down on the beach looking as though they would like to get to the other side of Elk Creek so that they might enjoy the park or maybe even explore our downtown area and spend some money.

We keep talking about bringing in tourist dollars to Crescent City, yet when we have a campground full of tourist dollars, we can't bridge the small gap to bring them to our downtown area.

This is a no-brainer people, if we can bridge this gap we would enable all of the tourists from the many hotels, restaurants and campgrounds to the South to get to the city. Therefore linking our coast.
