Letters: Resident experiences several good deeds from community

I would like to report a rash of acts of kindness and respect. I like to begin the day with the bright warm greeting from the gentleman who keeps the post office neat and tidy. Then there were two cars who stopped to let me cross on one of the three crosswalks at Front and H Streets. One was a tourist, the other appeared to be a high school girl. Thanks. I was looking at a big bag of stuff in my cart when a young man walked over and grabbed it up and put it in my car without my asking. Thanks again. A couple of checkers at groceries stores take the time to be helpful and friendly. One of my neighbors has taken pro-active steps to help make our street safer. Thanks. There are good people in our community and I say Thank you.
