County Board Supervisor Gerry Hemmingsen is wrong. His June 12 letter (andquot;Cooper not object of reprisal but asked to follow lawandquot;), states I have known about this septic system failure since 2003. I clearly stated to Hemmingsen at the May 22 board meeting that I became aware of my septic problem in 2005. In 2005 (winter/spring), I was given the bad news by my long-term tenant that I needed to repair or replace my septic system. My tenant also told me that he had found someone to do the work. I hired him immediately, but he failed to do the job. So I fired him and hired someone competent.

Please see the rest of my story in my June 6 op-ed (andquot;Fine is nothing but a reprisalandquot;). I bought my property in 2003, and I took action when I realized I had a problem. Hemmingsen did not listen to what I had to say.
