Earthquake was a wake-up call to us all

Thankfully the recent earthquake didn't result in much damage or many injuries to our local area, but it was definitely a wake-up call to us all.

We each have to take responsibility and be prepared for any disaster that strikes, and we don't know when that will be.andensp; Please encourage your readers to take advantage of the free "Living on the Fault line and Along the Coast" seminars being offered. They are being offered by the Del Norte County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Del Norte County Office of Emergency Services.

The information will include earthquake and tsunami preparedness, and the timing couldn't be better.andensp; You can call (707) 465-0430, ext. 376, for more information about the seminars, or stop by the local Red Cross office at 1672 Northcrest Drive for preparedness information.andensp;Advertisements have also been appearing in The Daily Triplandshy;icate.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Red Cross volunteers. Because of them we are able to respond when a single home burns down, and we will be here when the next earthquake hits. Thank you to all of our donors, without you our volunteers wouldn't have the supplies and money to help those families affected by disasters.

For more information about what we do, please visit www.dnarc.net . And lastly, thank you to The Daily Triplicate for being a community-minded business.
