Driver's home was scene of fatal shooting Nov. 20
A local man was arrested Saturday after authorities found methamphetamine and a gun during a traffic stop.
Authorities found about a gram of methamphetamine, a couple of grams of marijuana, paraphernalia and a small pistol in the car Donnell Parker was driving, sheriff's Commander Bill Steven said.
On Nov. 20, Parker was involved in an altercation at his house on A Street, which resulted in the death of Mike Napoli, a local business owner, after Napoli's gun went off during the struggle for it, authorities said.
Police are still investigating the matter and no arrests have been made.
Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a sheriff's deputy pulled Parker's car
over after he ran a red light on Northcrest Drive, Steven said.
Parker stopped his car and climbed into the backseat and his
passenger, Jennifer Williams, 35, moved over to the driver's seat,
Parker was detained and questioned before admitting he was driving the vehicle, Steven said.
The deputy gained permission to search the car from Williams and
found the drugs and a gun that was placed in a bag full of groceries in
the back seat, Steven said.
Parker was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license,
carrying a concealed weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm,
possessing a firearm with altered identification, possessing
methamphetamine, transporting methamphetamine, possessing paraphernalia
and buying a handgun without a serial number.
Williams, his passenger, was arrested on suspicion of buying a gun
without a serial number, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a
firearm with altered identification, transporting methandshy;amphetamine,
possessing methamphetamine and possessing paraphernalia.
