DN girls B-ball squad falls to Oroville at tourney

REDDING Following an exciting buzzer-beating shot for the win the night before, the Del Norte High girls basketball team fell to Oroville 44-26 on Thursday.

The loss came in the Enterprise Tournament in Redding, which continues today and Saturday. The Warriors started off on a positive note by taking a 9-6 first quarter lead. In the second quarter the shoots stopped dropping in as Del Norte scored only 2 points in the quarter. At the half, they found themselves down 20-11.

In the third quarter the Warriors were able to score 11 points but could muster only four points in the fourth quarter. The loss dropped the Warriors to 7-8 for the year.

Lauryn Lesina and Natasha Short each had six points for the Warriors. Wednesday night the team defeated Hoopa 42-41 on a three-pointer at the buzzer. Today the squad faces Las Plumas at 2:30 p.m.
