HOOPA Down by 10 with a little under three minutes remaining, the Del Norte High varsity girls team mounted a comeback, capped off with a three-pointer by Baille Mc-Culloch at the buzzer to give them a 42-41 win over Hoopa Wednesday.

The team came out of the gate sluggish, missing several easy shots and trailed 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. By the half, Del Norte had cut the lead to two.
The DN Warriors were able to keep things close until the fourth when Hoopa began to pull away and took a 10-point lead.
At that point, McCulloch said the team started to make shots and played tight pressuring defense.
McCulloch said he kept rotating girls on and off the bench, using quicker players when they were on defense and bringing in bigger girls for the offensive plays.
With about five seconds left, Del Norte found itself down by one. Grabbing a rebound after a missed free throw, the squad raced down the court when Baille Mcculloch drained the open three-pointer as time expired to give the team the win.
