Warrior JV football team downs Tigers at home

The Del Norte High Junior Varsity football team kept Arcata off the scoreboard on Friday, winning the contest 33-0. The Warriors are 2-2-1 for the season. Head JV coach Steve Luis said his team was focused in practice this week and came out determined to have a good game. Shane Endamono rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Kai Lemrise ran for 80 yards and one touchdown. Luis commended Blane Welton for coming into the game and doing a good job, including catching an 8-yard pass. In the Warrior freshman game Thursday night in Fortuna, the team lost 24-14. Head coach John Valdez said after trailing 24-0 at the half, the team did a good job of coming out in the second half and mounting a comeback, although it fell short.
