Warrior freshman football team defeats Crater, Ore.

The Del Norte High freshman football team earned its first victory of the season, defeating Crater, Ore., at home 33-6 Tuesday night to improve to 1-2 for the year. On only two carries Brandon Gragg ran for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Kakitsuka rushed for one touchdown and on a return, took the ball 80-yards for the score. Chris Saylor ran the ball in 5 yards for another Del Norte score. Head coach John Valdez commended his defense for shutting down Crater and doing a andquot;phenomenal job. They couldn't move on us.andquot; The Warriors next play on Thursday at 5 p.m. at home against Grants Pass, Ore.
