The Del Norte High girls golf team had a good showing at a tournament on Monday.
The squad placed fourth at the event at the Benbow Golf Course in Garberville and moved ahead of Fortuna in the Big 5 Confernce to currently be in fourth place. The team opened the season with a 5th place finish out of six teams at a tournament put on by Hoopa High on Thursday.
Head coach Alison Eckart was pleased at the progress of her team and said that three of her players were able to reduce their scores from last week.
Mari Fugate had the best score for the Warriors, coming in with a 122. Last week, she scored a 136.
Katie Maltbie shot a 134, improving her score by four strokes compared to last week.
Juli Doorman shot a 135, 12 strokes better than last week.
Kayla Bohannon finished with a score of 140 and Blair Benson shot a 153.
The team next plays on Monday in Arcata.
