The Siskiyou Savages semi-pro football team were close to gaining a come-from-behind win against the Bend Lightning on Saturday, but could not pull it off, losing 17-13.

With time running out, the Savages got the ball down to the one foot line, but time ran out. There were no time outs left.

andquot; We just can't quite get it done, andquot; head coach Dick Trone said. The game started well, with D.J. Suban recovering from a Lightning fumble and scampering for a 40-yard touchdown, but the Savages could not sustain the lead. The loss dropped the Savages to 1-4 for the year. The game was played for the first time this year in Crescent City.
