Del Norte track team competes at Chico meet

With more than 40 schools competing at andquot;an elite meet,andquot; according to coach Scott Lindsay, the Chico Invitational track meet presented a challenge to the Del Norte High track and field team, who came up with several solid showings on Friday. In the girls' pole vault, Kelsy Hintz came in second with a vault of 11.6 feet. Bailee McCulloch placed third in the 200-meter hurdles and sixth in the 100-meter dash. Taylor Duncan had a good showing in the pole vault, vaulting 13.6 feet., although where he placed was unavailable as of press time. Michael Worch had a personal best in the 300-meter hurdles as did James Sampier in his event. The team heads to Yreka to compete at a meet today. On Wednesday, the Warriors took part in a meet in McKinleyville.
