Warrior boys golf team finishes in 5th at event in Hoopa

The Del Norte High boys golf team earned a fifth place finish out of 10 teams at a league meet at the Willow Creek Golf Course in Hoopa on Tuesday.

Head coach Kirk Burrows said both he and the team were a little bit disappointed in the finish and had hope to shoot scores in the low 80s, and perhaps in the high 70 range.

Instead, the highest score for Del Norte was a 86 by Trevor Johnson.

Burrows said the team now has to work at improving their scores and get ready for the next match on March 27 at the Beau Pre Golf Course in McKinleyville.

On Tuesday, the next high score for the Warriors was Cole Leslie, who finished with a 87. Nyke Newton golfed a 88, while Kevin Janiero had a 89, Chris Davidson got a 99 and Ryan Dorosz Jr. shot a score of 100.
