Remain winless in Big Five play
The Del Norte Warriors girls varsity basketball teams struggled in a 60-32 loss to Big 5 Conference rival Eureka at home Wednesday night.
Del Norte appeared out of sync from the start of the contest and never were really in the game.
"We were out-hustled," Del Norte head coach Buzz McCulloch said. "They didn't come out fired up for the game."
Junior Emma Card led Del Norte scorers with 14 points. Junior Brittany Maready had 10 points for Del Norte. Maready, the leading scorer for the Warriors' last year, returned last week against McKinleyville but did not score. She had been out since the second game of the season due to a knee injury.

sides of the ball. With Del Norte down 31-15 with time running out the
Loggers launched a three-pointer that went in to give them a 34-15
advantage at the half.
In the second half the Loggers extended the lead to 55-23 after three
periods of play. In the fourth quarter Eureka scored another
three-pointer at the buzzer to give them the 60-32 win.
Del Norte fell to 3-15 overall and 0-6 in the Big 5. Eureka improved to 9-8 overall and 3-2 in the Big 5.
