Laura Wiens, The Triplicate

The members of Del Norte Youth Wrestling have shown off their endurance and skill throughout the season. Now, they have the hardware to show for it.

All 17 members of the Warriors who participated in the Redwood Empire Wrestling Association Freestyle Wrestling Championships, held Saturday at Fortuna High School, finished third place or better in their respective age and weight classes.

Thunder Lewis, Wyatt Lewis, Billy Lewis, Colton Schaad, Eddie Hartwick, Bert Taylor, Aidin King-Taylor, Cameron Rylands, Michael Thompson, Robert Boulby, Ta-Tes Boulby and Aldaron McCovey all won their respective divisions.

Riley Deshon, Robert Villegas and Zane Ridenour finished second in their respective divisions. Sherrik Cron and Robert Kelsey added a pair of third-place finishes to the DNYW trophy collection.

Seven members of the young Warriors concluded their seasons with undefeated records: Wyatt Lewis, Billy Lewis, Schaad, Hartwick, Thompson, Ta-Tes Boulby and Robert Boulby. Thunder Lewis and Bert Taylor finished their seasons with only one loss on their records.

Several of the young Warriors will travel to the California USA Wrestling Kids Freestyle State Championships, held from May 31 to June 2 at the Selland Arena in Fresno.
