The Del Norte High volleyball team stayed perfect in Humboldt-Del Norte Big 5 play with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-20) victory on the road in Eureka.
"I thought we played pretty well," said coach Debbie Lorenzi. "We actually ran some of the plays that we have been working on and we were efficient at them. Our passing was very good."
After a fast start, Lorenzi felt that her team lost a little bit of steam toward the end of the match.
"We got a little lackadaisical at the end there, we seemed to get a little bored, but we pulled through it and got it together," Lorenzi said.
Kaitlyn Clemann led the Warriors' passing attack with 14 digs. Ericka Alcala and Regin Loftin both added four digs apiece.
Clemann also led the Warriors offense with 12 kills in the match. Ashton Smedley added eight kills, Kiera Davis had six and Kayla Costello added five kills in the match.
Costello also dished out 15 assists and recorded five aces against the Loggers.
The victory was the Warriors' third in a row and 12th in their last 14 matches. They improved to 16-7 overall and 3-0 in Humboldt-Del Norte Big Five play.
Del Norte is back at home today, hosting Fortuna beginning at 6:30 p.m.
