Del Norte tennis takes pounding against NCP

Triplicate Staff

The Del Norte boys tennis team ran into a buzzsaw at home losing 8-1 on Saturday against North Coast Prep.

"That whole team is really good all down the line," said Del Norte No. 1 Alex Westbrook. "It is a prep academy and they play tennis every single day. It's their only sport. From a three-sport athlete's perspective, it is hard to come in and compete with some of those guys. But I thought we played well. It was a good learning experience."

The Warriors lone win of the match came from Westbrook and Cameron Douglas in number one doubles.

"We haven't really played that much doubles this year.," Westbrook said. "They put a couple of their weaker guys in, so it was easy for us to work together to get the win."
