Baseball team stays undefeated with first road win

The Del Norte baseball team took care of buisness on Tuesday, traveling to Cave Junction for the first game of a home and away series against Illinois Valley.

The Warriors jumped all over Illinois Valley, winning the game 13-1 in five innings.

"They are a really young team. They didn't have a lot of experience," said head coach Tavis Johnson.

"Chris Bray threw a really good game, and I think everybody played well."

Johnson said his team hit the ball well, but they had several extra baserunners thanks to errors in the field by Illinois Valley.

The Warriors have a week off before the second game of the series, which has Illinois Valley coming to Del Norte.

"It should be much of the same," Johnson said. "I think I will do a few things differently to get some kids a little more playing time."
