DN tennis falters against Panthers

Triplicate Staff

The Del Norte boys tennis team wrapped up its regular season on Thursday when McKinleyville came to visit Crescent City.

The Warriors struggled against the Panthers, falling 9-0. Once again, the tennis team was playing shorthanded, so head coach Jeff Cook borrowed a couple track and field athletes to fill out the lineup.

Parker Dantzman played No. 3 singles for the Warriors in his second tennis meet this season. Humberto Cortez also filled in, playing No. 6 singles in his first-ever tennis meet.

The Warriors head to the Humboldt-Del Norte singles championships in Fortuna today.
