The North Coast Roller Derby is looking for retribution this Saturday as they welcome the Cherry City Derby Girls to the Del Norte County Fairgrounds for the final home bout of the season.

The Tsunami Sirens traveled to Salem, Ore. to take on the Boneyard Brawlers on March 29 and were beaten 230-111 for their first loss of the season.

"We want sweet revenge," said Adrianna "Full Metal Jackie" Stefko. "They were a pretty formidable team. They were good. We are not playing the same roster that we played last time, but they have some pretty strong skaters."

Stefko said that several of the Boneyard Brawlers skaters will be the same that they faced in March, but many of the skaters are unknown. The Sirens are confident that this go-around will be much closer.

"I think we will be able to hone our skills in a little bit since we are at home," Stefko said. "I think we are a little bit more focused now."

It will be the Sirens' last chance to show off for the home crowd this year, and Stefko said the team is pumped.

"We are pretty excited for the last home bout of the season," Stefko said. "We get to break out all our fancy lights and put on a show one more time this season."

The North Coast Roller Derby is selling a limited quantity of presale tickets for $10, which can be bought as long as supplies last at Hot Rollers Salon, Del Norte Office Supply, Main Street Skate or online price for tickets is $15.

The Sirens also announced that a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Save the Fairgrounds Campaign. The North Coast Roller Derby practices and plays all of its home bouts in the Fairgrounds' main building, so it is particularly supportive of the campaign to keep the facility open.

"We definitely want to see that happen," Stefko said. "We are in jeopardy of losing our practice location and we currently don't have any other buildings that are big enough to suit our needs. It could put us in a situation where we would have to purchase or build our own facility, which is a pretty big challenge."
