North Coast Summer Band Camp concert

Brookings Art Walk

LRT’s annual membership meeting

Lighthouse Repertory Theater invites the public to join them for their annual potluck membership meeting at 5 p.m. Saturday at 350 Lower Lake Rd. It’s a great way to hear about LRT, get updates on the progress of their performance venue’s construction, and support local live theatre. Art in Public Places

Today is the final day to view DNACA’s Art in Public Places show titled “Having Fun from the Desert to Crescent City,” a collection of photography by Smokey Bill Harper, in the Del Norte County Courthouse. Beginning tomorrow, the show will be a collaboration with the Harrington House. “Third Eye Open: Beyond the Siren’s Song,” a collection of paintings by Dianne Renee Shilling, will be available for viewing through Sept. 28. Coast Redwoods Art Association Juried Art Competition

Artists are invited to enter CRAA’s 2017 Juried Art Competition with two-dimensional art, excluding film or digital photography, completed within the past two years. Artists may enter up to three works for a $20 nonrefundable entry fee each. Entry forms and fees must be postmarked no later than Tuesday (Aug. 15) or delivered to the Crescent Harbor Gallery at 140 Marine Way. Art will need to be delivered between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 27-29 and a reception will take place 6 p.m-8 p.m. Sept. 1 where awards will be bestowed. Local authors speak

The Del Norte County Library is proud to announce a new program that spotlights local authors in the community and surrounding areas. Come listen and ask questions. The first event will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 18 at the Del Norte County Library at 190 Price Mall. Coast Redwoods Art Association’s Crescent Harbor Gallery’s Artist of the Month for August is Jenny Bayon, showcasing her paintings in acrylics. DNACA’s 35th Performance Series season tickets

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness has limited quantities of pre-sale season tickets available. These pre-sale season tickets will be available until the 2017-18 season lineup is announced on Monday. Pre-Sale ticket prices are General for $65, Senior (65 and older) for $50, Student (K-College full-time) for $40, and Family (2 general and 2 other) for $150. Beginning Monday, regular season tickets will be available through Nov. 30. General tickets are $70, Senior are $55, Student are $45, and Family are $160. California Redwoods Art Association’s Labor Day Weekend Celebration Art Show

Artists are invited to enter CRAA’s 2017 Labor Day Weekend Celebration Art Show in one of four categories: oil, watercolor, and acrylic; pencil, ink, pastels, and charcoal; sculpture and pottery; and fabric and jewelry. Artists may enter up to four works for a $20 nonrefundable entry fee each. Entry forms and fees must be received by Aug. 28 at 1228 2nd St. Art must be delivered to the Cultural Center at 1001 Front St. between 12-5 p.m. on Sept. 1. There will be a reception for all artists and their guests 4 p.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 3. The show will be open noon Sept. 2 through 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and all work must be picked up 4:30 p.m.-5p.m. that Monday. Winners will be displayed at the gallery through October 1. California Redwoods Art Association

California Redwoods Art Association’s 2nd St Gallery’s Artist of the Month for August is Linda Elmore with a collection of her watercolor. The gallery has also expanded their reach to various locations throughout Crescent City. Florence Keller originals are on display through Sept. 1 in the main hallway of Sutter Coast Hospital at 800 E Washington Blvd. and Wild Rivers Community Foundation at 900 Front St. will display originals by Carol Long through Oct. 1. Become a member of the gallery and spend Saturday afternoons painting and networking 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Art classes for children take place on Saturday mornings.
