Curry-Del Norte Orchestra

The 2017 winter concert for the Curry-Del Norte Orchestra will include stunning pieces such as Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” and other holiday favorites the public will be sure to recognize along with selections from John Williams, Antonin Dvorak, and Ralph Vaughn Williams.

The concerts will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 94190 5th St., Gold Beach, at 3 p.m. Dec. 3; at the Elk Valley Rancheria, 2332 Howland Hill Rd., Crescent City; and at 7 p.m. December 4 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 1200 Easy St., Brookings. Donations for the upcoming season are also currently being accepted at P.O. Box 1274 in Crescent City. Art in Public Places

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness’ Art in Public Places exhibit is the 26th Annual Juried Multimedia Show. It is available for viewing in the Del Norte County Courthouse, 450 H St., Crescent City, through Jan. 18. The courthouse is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except for state holidays. Crescent Harbor Gallery

Coast Redwoods Art Association’s Crescent Harbor Gallery November Artist of the Month is Pauline Lodolini showcasing her watercolor paintings.

There will be no demo for November or December.

Every Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. is Paint and Play day for children. Every Sunday 1 p.m-4 p.m. are paint-ins, offering a space and good company for artists and crafters.

California Redwoods Art Association

California Redwoods Art Association’s 2nd St Gallery’s November Artist of the Month is Norman Grochowski, showcasing a multimedia collection.

The Del Norte County Public Library, 190 Price Mall, will also display work by Nina Baron, Carol McKim, Julie Lewis, Cathy Bauer, and Bill Sanchez through Dec. 1.

The Wild Rivers Community Foundation, 990 Front St., has hung paintings by Lee Beising and photography by Betty Depee and will be available for viewing through Feb. 1.

Become a member of the gallery and spend Saturday afternoons painting and networking 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Art classes for children take place on Saturday mornings.

The gallery is also accepting design applications through Nov. 30 for their “Design and Paint the Front Door” contest. Join them for a Christmas Open House 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 4-9 with Santa present 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
