Obituaries: Frank Earl Reha(1925-2007)

Frank Earl Reha born Dec. 8, 1925 in Helena, Mont., died Sept. 26, 2007 in Crescent City. Reha was a 58-year resident of Del Norte County, making his home in Gasquet.

Frank served in World War II with the U.S. Navy, and was wounded during the invasion of the Philippines in 1944 and received a Purple Heart. He was a volunteer fireman in Crescent City and Gasquet for 35 years.

Frank spent 36 years of his working life at the Del Norte County Road Department. For the last 10 years, he was road superintendent. Frank loved to spend time fishing, traveling and hunting. His true enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hope Reha of Gasquet; sons Frank (Sally) of Crescent City, Jerry of Grants Pass, Ore., and Chris (Kelly) of Hawaii; and brother, Paul (Cindy) Dunn of South Carolina.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Joya Hastings, Molly Pearcey, Mitchell Reha, Chelsea Reha and Sidney and Alexis Reha; great-grandchildren Gavin Cochrane and Aedan Hastings; special nieces Kim Baily and Patty Lewis and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Myrtle Reha, brother Donald Reha and sister Grace O'Callaghan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests contributions be made in Frank's memory to one's favorite charity.
