Letters: Sewer rate increase is a matter for the rate payers to decide

With regards to the city's proposed sewer rate increase, it is a matter for the rate payers to decide, not the property owners. One landlord might own 50 parcels, giving him 50 "votes," when in fact he passes the cost of water and sewer on to his tenants. Where's the democratic process in that?

If this rate increase is implemented, the irony will be that people will be spending more wage-earning time outside the home to make up for the financial shortfall, using some else's plumbing!
