Crescent City resident Travis Coulson, who is in Minnesota playing college football, has just received recognition for his contributions to his team.

Coulson, a junior, who is a punter for the University of Minnesota—Crookston, a Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), was named NSIC special team's player of the week.

The award is based on a Sept. 4 game against Mayville State University, which the Golden Eagles won 21-0.

In that game, Coulson averaged 43.2 yards on five punts including a 55 yarder and one inside the 20-yard line.

The Golden Eagle Football team returns to the field on Saturday when they host SW Minnesota State University in conference action on the UMC campus.
