Effie Harriet Wilson, 90, died at home Sept. 2, 2007.

She was born in northern Wisconsin in 1917. She married Leonard Wilson in 1938, who was her lifelong partner until his death 10 years ago.

The couple moved to Crescent City in 1946 where Leonard continued his career in commercial fishing.

She is survived by their children, Margaret (Fred) Schille of Wisconsin; Bud (Judy), Lee (Julie) Wilson, and Gail Jacobs of Crescent City; and Myrtle (Bob) Urban of Central Point, Ore. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; her brothers, Ralph and Lee Gidlof; and her sister, Edna Purviance.

She had a loving, thankful, servant's heart. She demonstrated her caring nature through her family and chruch-family relationships throughout her life. She loved to garden and spent time and effort to can and freeze the bounty, purchasing farm produce as necessary to have fruits and vegetables throughout the year. Her home-canned tuna and jams and jellies were other enjoyments she labored to provide for her family.

She liked baking and hosting family dinners. Other activities included playing Scrabble and cards, working crossword puzzles, reading nonfiction, and sewing and mending. She did a wonderful job of maintaining the household.

Funeral Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 at Wier's Mortuary Chapel, at which time friends and family will be given an opportunity to share their experiences as related to her bountiful life.

A Fellowship will directly follow the services at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, 1281 Douglas Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Daily Bread community ministry.

Arrangements are under the Direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel.
