Barbara Patricia Stanton was born in January 1962 in Long Beach, and her family moved to Shell Beach in 1969. She passed away the morning of August 23, 2007. She had a long and courageous fight with the terrible disease, scleroderma.

Barbara graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1979, then went on to Cal Poly to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree and her teaching credential. She began her career at age 22 at Ocean View Elementary School, and worked there for 20 years, where she found her love teaching kindergarten. The staff was energetic, loving and supportive. Barbara touched hearts and inspired many young lives, but her greatest personal accomplishments were her two children Sarah Nicholle and Jarrod Dylan.

Barbara always had a smile that would light up a room and brighten your day.
