Relay for life

Five-year-old cancer survivor Cecelia Sample-Bergeren of Crescent City, sits on caretaker Patti Tyce's knee before Friday's 8th Annual Crescent City Relay for Life, themed "Round-Up For Life," at the Del Norte High School track. Last year she and her guardians Tiffany and Justin Dodson, also her aunt and uncle, couldn't make the Relay because she was in treatment in Davis. Sample-Bergeren's family carried a torch around the track. "We're honoring her here tonight,"said Laura Reed, manager of community services for the Relay for Life in Crescent City and Eureka. The Relay ends today at 6 p.m. (The Daily Triplicate/Adam Madison).
