It was a good weekend for Tom Farrell.

The Crescent City man was able to win two local golf tournaments.

On Saturday, he came in first at the club championship at the Kings Valley Golf Course in town. The next day, he came in first at the Del Norte Golf Club men's championship.

"It was awesome," he said. "I never expected to do that."

Farrell, owner of Crescent Car Stereo, has been golfing for 10 years and said he's ecstatic to have done so well in the two tournaments, considering how hard it is to be consistent in golf.

"It's a hard game to conquer," he said, adding one day you may have a perfect game and the next day struggle to get anything into the hole.

Ray Martell, interim golf manager at Del Norte Golf Club said it was quite an accomplishment Farrell made and congratulated him for his feat.

"It's wonderful," he said. Cliff Miller, manager of Kings Valley, said to his knowledge, no local golfer has won two tournaments like that back-to-back before.

"He's a good golfer," he said about Farrell.
