Down 14-0 at the half, the Siskiyou Savages semi-pro football team mounted a 19-14 come-from-behind victory against the Springfield Buzzards Saturday night in an exhibition game in Crescent City.

Head coach Dick Trone said the coaching staff made offensive adjustments to help give quarterback Blake Moorman better protection, and the defense continued to play well, such as stopping the Buzzards on fourth and goal in the second-half.

Moorman threw two touchdowns and Justin Heighmiller, who backed him up in college at Humboldt State University, threw another touchdown. Former HSU standout Chris White caught three touchdowns.

"The kids played well over the course of the second-half," Trone said.

The Savages next play on Aug, 11 at an exhibition game against a team composed of member s of the Salem, ore police and fire department.
