Three skateboarders from Germany, including Gunther Mokulys, who is the six-time world freestyle champion, made a stop in Crescent City Tuesday evening on their way to the World FreeStyle Skateboard Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia, which will be held this weekend. The skateboarders displayed their skills at the Crescent City Skatepark, where a crowd of interested spectators quickly formed to admire the nifty tricks the men performed on their boards. The group stopped in town to see Mario Westphal of Crescent City, who grew up in Germany with Axel "Starsky" Kleinhans, who owns Rolling-Four Skateboards and is a well-known skateboarder himself. He will compete in the legends portion of the freestyle championships. The third member of the group is Christian Heise.
