Meeting to address Klamath fishery issues

July 24, 2007 12:00 am

Klamath Zone Fisheries Management Coalition will hold a summer meeting from 10 a.m.-noon at Crescent City Harbor District office Aug. 3.

Relevant Klamath Zone fishery issues will be discussed. Among the issues are health of the fish, California and Oregon Marine Reserve proposals, and shifting administration of the group to Crescent City Harbor District.

Oregon's Policy Advisory Group to its governor and legislature is drafting goals and a process to nominate Marine Reserves in its coastal waters, according to Curry County Commission Chair Lucie La Bont.

Current proposals advocate ‘no fishing' areas.
