Letters: Thanks to all who helped repertory theater with party

June 27, 2007 11:00 pm

I am proud to live in a community where so many residents contribute their time, talent, and resources to worthwhile causes. A Saturday a couple of weeks ago was no exception as the women of this community turned out to support Lighthouse Repertory Theatre's "Ladies Only Pajama Party" fundraiser.

As the organizer of the event, I would like to thank all the attendees who took a chance on a new and different event and showed up (in their pajamas!) to have a good time – and proceeded to do just that! These women shopped, dined and participated in demonstrations that ranged from Jazzercise to line dancing to yoga.

My thanks to the vendors who traveled from near (in town) and far (Cave Junction, Ore.) to provide shopping and entertainment for everyone attending. I also would like to thank the area businesses and individuals that partnered with us to help make the event a success: the BodyWorks Spa, Chetco FCU, the 41st District Agricultural Association, Fabulous Food by Julie, the Crescent City Jaycees, Mitzi Travis, Trees of Mystery, the Chamber of Commerce, John Degler, TriCounties Bank, and Bicoastal Media.

Thank you again to everyone for your support of LRT as we purchase Red's Twin Cinemas and convert the building into a performing arts center, continuing to help grow a stronger, more vibrant community.
