Volunteers neededon Fourth of July

June 20, 2007 12:00 am

The Crescent City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center plans to take 15 residents from the center on Marshall Street to the Flynn Center to watch the Independence Day parade. The center needs four or five volunteers, including a couple with pickups to transport wheelchairs.

Volunteers will be needed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Also needed are one or two volunteers to help take a group of center residents to lunch once a month. Pickup trucks are not required, and this month's lunch will be a barbeque at Beachfront Park on June 26.

Visitors are always welcome at the center and often it is easiest to attend a program to see if you make a connection with one of the patients. You might want to lend a hand at the cooking classes which take place on Thursday mornings, or attend the monthly birthday party, which takes place at 2 p.m. on the third Friday of the month.

To help with any of these projects, contact Amanda Morton at 464-6151.
