Workshops address health, finance

This year's workshops focus on health, finances and recreation that promote active lifestyles.

Health

Guests can begin their morning at 9:15 a.m. by listening to Debra Broner of the Del Norte Democratic Party explain " The California Universal Healthcare Act." The seminar will be held in the upstairs Redwood Room.

At 10:15 a.m. in the upstairs Redwood Room Jody Mangum from The Wellness Center will present "Ancient Medicine for a Modern World, Acupuncture: A Holistic Approach to Health."

Dr. Sandy Waters from A Gentle Touch Chiropractic will be presenting "Chiropractic for an Active Life," at 10:30 a.m. in the downstairs Rose Room.

At 11 a.m., in the upstairs Commodore Room, Margie Godwyn of Sutter Coast Hospital will be presenting "Heart Healthy Nutrition."

At 1 p.m. in the downstairs Rose Room, Jane Christmas will be presenting, "Eat Your Way Out Of Rheumatoid Arthritis," sponsored by Citizens For An Alcohol-Free Environment.

At 1:45 p.m. in the RV Office, "Health, Happiness & Hormones" will be presented by Jody Mangum of The Wellness Center and Dr. Sandy Waters of A Gentle Touch Chiropractic.

Christmas will also be presenting "How to Get Over Cancer Permanently," at 2 p.m. in the downstairs Rose Room.

At 2 p.m. in the upstairs Redwood Room, Margie Godwyn will be holding "Conversations on Weight Management."

Diabetes

For guests who have concerns and questions about diabetes, this year's expo is offering two seminars.

Margie Godwyn from Sutter Coast Hospital is presenting "Living Well With Diabetes," at 9:30 a.m. in the downstairs Rose Room.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the downstairs Rose Room, Ken Robinson of Priority Footwear will be presenting "Diabetes and Your Feet," a seminar focusing on diabetic foot care.

Finance

Guests concerned with finances will be impressed with the variety of workshops they can attend.

At 9:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the upstairs Commodore Room, Integrity Financial will be holding two sessions of "The Inside Story on Investing."

Nadine Petel of Financial Freedom will present "The Truth About Reverse Mortgages" at 11:15 a.m. in the upstairs Redwood Room.

"Transferring Wealth Among Generations," will present at 1:15 p.m. in the upstairs Commodore Room by Mike Sullivan of Edward Jones Investments.

Demonstrations

At 9 a.m. at the Tent Pavilion, Jody Mangum of The Wellness Center will be hosting a "Tai-Chi Demonstration."

At 10 a.m. in the Tent Pavilion, A.J. Geldersma of South Coast Fitness will be doing a "Martial Arts Demonstration," using Tae Kwon Do.

Also at 10 a.m. in the RV Office, Flora Pacifica will be hosting a seminar on "Floral Arranging."

A "Jazzercise Demonstration," will begin at 11 a.m. at the Tent Pavilion, hosted by Jazzercise of Crescent City.

Finishing the demonstrations at 3 p.m., guests will get to see a "Windsurfing Demonstration," by Dave Lovell in the Estuary, wind permitting.
