Del Norte County's population grew by two on Mother's Day when moms Jamie Heil and Saengdeuan Inta delivered at Sutter Coast Hospital a son and a daughter, respectively.

"My mom kept teasing me that I'd have the baby on Mother's Day," said Heil, whose own birthday is Mother's Day.

Her new, 9 lb. 1.5 ounce, 19 1/2 inch-long son is named Tobias Noah Meyer, and he joins big sister Isabella Jimenez.

The baby's father is Ronnie Meyer. His grandparents are Rose Daniels of Crescent City. Great-grandparents are Delmar and Barbara Lake of Puyallup, Wash.

Inta's daughter, Moonshine Diamond Hunsucker, weighed 6 lbs. 10 ounces, and measured 20 1/2 inches long.

She surprised her mother by arriving early.

"I was expecting her on May 17," Inta said. "That was my due date."

The baby's father is Klinton Hunsucker. His grandparents are Bruce Hunsucker of Hoopa, Sheri Fry of Crescent City, and Phanh and Kone Inta of Crescent City. His great-grandparent is Pat Hunsucker.

Adding to the incidence of being born on a holiday were two of the nurses. One of the labor and delivery nurses who worked Mother's Day was born on Labor Day, the other on Memorial Day.
